So, Ruby is potty training! I am so excited for her. This is my first child, so I'm not sure what to expect or how long it will take. I'm really just trying to let her set the pace. All of the sudden last week, she was very very interested in sitting on the potty. Now, she has done this before a few months ago, but would only go a few drops and then want a treat. She is very smart. Too smart for her own good! Soon, her excitement passed and I haven't seen her interested until now. The first night she tried and actually went potty. She went 8 times! It was amazing. We gave her 1/2 a starburst the first time and then cut it down to 1/4, realizing that she was going to eat the whole pack in one night if we weren't careful. We never ever give her candy. I am struggling with giving this kind of treat to her but I figure that if it gets her potty trained I guess we will just do it. So now it is a standard that we give her 1/4 of a cut up starburst. She doesn't know any different so you might as well take advantage of it while you can! She pronounces it "saw-fowst". Her routine is she will potty, then run down to her big girl chair with a naked bum and wait for her saw-fowst to be placed on the table in front of her to eat. She gets so excited! I hope this lasts and she gets out of those sick, expensive diapers!

Ruby has also been upgraded to a big girl bed this past month because she wouldn't stay in her crib. She kept climbing out at night. The funny thing is, she doesn't sleep in her bed. She prefers the floor. I don't know why it is so sad to me that she is sleeping on the floor but it is and that's how she wants it. She had also been getting out of her room and sleeping on the hallway floor. So reluctant as I was, we bought a lock for her door, just to keep her in. Little bugger can also turn a door knob and get out! She is too tall for her own good too! Before we had the lock this was my concoction for getting her to stay in her room to take her nap. I was cracking up at myself that I actually did this. This is my bed sheet...the longest thing I could find at the moment.

This is her playing on her "new" bed. Even though it is just her crib mattress on the floor.

We unlock her door when we go to bed at night, and this is where we found her in the morning. See what I mean...it's sad!

Man, she has changed so much in the past month. Outgrew high chair, learned how to climb (out of bed), she talks in sentences, potty training, can reach light switches, can turn door knobs and much more. I had to unscrew the light bulb in her room so she wouldn't turn on the light when she was supposed to be going to sleep. Kids are truly amazing. I'm so lucky to have her :)

These are just some other random, fun pics:
Candice Waddell's Fall party. It was some fun stuffs

She didn't want to cooperate taking this picture. Why should she look at the camera anyway?

First Snow! Ruby was not sure what to think of it. After a little but, she liked it and loved being thrown into the mound of snow next the the driveway and calling it a "wooby chaiw" (ruby chair)
